Felt OK for the first 7 miles: just a few heart jumps but nothing serious. As I knew there were no mile markers, I ran with my garmin. My cumulative pace was holding steady at 5:50 until we left the canyon when I started to slow down. Reached 9 miles in about 53 flat and then hung onto about 6:20 pace the last bit. The last four miles were very painful.

Another fist pump here (not two fists because that would mean something different).

Seriously, this is a great start, James!

It was very cool to see you running the half today. Sorry to have missed you afterward.

This is a huge step in the right direction, even if it's not a PR again yet. Congrats!

Good job today, it was fun seeing you!

3rd fist pump!

You and Allie are the sharpest couple. You guys crack me up.

We should have a coughing party. I'll provide all the hand touched food.

Ben Saarel ran 8:49 yesterday, and since you beat him before, I'd say this Half-Marathon is worth about 8:42 for 2 miles. So well done!

james it was fun running with you for a bit. I know you are just getting back into it, but you looked good today. Glad to say hi...

It's great to see you out racing again James. I hope you can get your racing form back this summer!

Great come back race James and most importantly it is good to see you running healthy again.

From Steve on Mon, May 06, 2013 at 11:12:52 from 66.87.113.231

Within just a few seconds of what you told me you were going to run at the start. Smart race.
