Then I did 9.7 in the afternoon.

I ran 2:24 for the 1000 loop (just like last year). (Which is like a 2:05 800).

Then I ran the 2mile in an even split 9:50. As expected it didn't feel very difficult to me.

I did 14 miles at about 6:30 pace. I was planning on doing more but I just felt too sick. I was doing loops of sugarhouse park also and it was really hard on my butt/hip/hamstring for some reason. Kind of a miserable run really.

I did a run in flats today because that is easier on my hamstring. I did the math "10 miler" in 58:49. It should have been much faster but I needed to go to the bathroom the last four or five miles.

Ran down the bikepath to Sandy. I loosened up during the run and felt better than I had in a while. At the end of the run I was probably running like 6:30 pace.

You know scene in hitch where Will Smith gets an allergic reaction and his lips swell up to a horrifying size? Well that happened to me Friday night and continuing into Saturday morning. It's a sure sign that I'm getting sick again! Which I could have known already because I've been feeling crumby all week. Anyway, I really wanted to do this race to see how my leg would handle some marathon pacework. On that front, things were good as my leg felt fine.

 At the start Fritz pulled away and I ran with Albert Wint and Jamal Tongo for a while. At 5k, Jamal easily dropped me and went on to win. I hung on to third place thanks to a 2 second negative split. Given that I was sick,it seemed quite reasonable to me that I could run this pace for a marathon.
